This was really two separate adventures with largely the same personnel.
Part [A]: The Picking of Oglog’s Pocket
Nickar has a cunning plan. For many months he has been seeding the wilderness with gold pieces that he has magically marked and can track. His hypothesis is that as they pass through the hands they will tend to agglommerate where Oglog, the self-styled Orcish King of Itaen has his secret base. He soon detects a significant cluster in the depths of the forest. He has a spell that allows him to teleport a number of people with him and takes the time to teach it to Sho-Rembo. In the middle of December he and the elf teleport the adventurers to the location indicated by his researches. They find themselves deep underground surrounded by treasure. There may be plenty of guards, but they are all on the outside. The party break out and slay all the darkspawn they can find, which is many. As the opposition start to show signs of organising for a counter attack, they simply retreat to the treasury and barricade themselves in. The door is further reinforced by a stone wall conjured by Nickar. The party gather up all the treasure – which is substantial – and teleport back to Sequarl. It is a mighty victory, but Grettir is saddened to see the huge number of gold and silver wedding and betrothal bands, plainly plucked from the fingers of ordinary humans slain or enslaved by Oglog’s marauding bands of orcs.
Part [B]: Girindar Poops it All Off
Nickar returns to Chittagong after this. However, word comes of a counter-strike out of the Wood of Itaen from the enraged Oglog against Redhill. Redhill is a pastoral community of gnomes just south of the trade road that runs from Chittagong through Sequarl and ultimately to the Sandlands. It is closer to the Wood of Itaen than Sequarl, but the party use magical means to forestall the arrival of a great force of orcs and ogres. They have brought excavation equipment with them, clearly with the intention of digging the gnomes out of their hillside. They set up a camp at the foot of the hill. Atop the hill is an ancient stone circle. The powerful elven druid, Girindor realises that this is a place of great potency. He decides to awake the Earth power sleeping beneath the stone circle of Redhill and uses it to unleash a violent lightning storm, focusing its energy upon the orcish camp below. He uses up all the power, accrued there over many centuries. However, the orcish force disintegrates in the face of the mighty tempest he conjures. Many are slain and the force disperses in terror. The party pursues the command group of orcs to a last stand and slay them.
