Grettir makes a diplomatic visit to the Lands of Kriggs, his northern neighbours on the other side of the West Otanga.
Subsequently the party adventure north from there. They slaughter many ogres and Grettir chases off a wyvern. There is a encounter with a Pictish witch called Tachla. Eormanric gives her a gift and they trade spells.
